Senior Lecturer in Agri-Food Science

As part of its international development and its diversification strategy, UniLaSalle « School of Engineering Earth & Sciences » strengthens its teaching team and recruits for its campus in Rouen a permanent full-time teacher-researcher.

She / he will develop educational and research activities in the agro-food and agribusiness training center and Transformation & Agroresources research unit.The objective of this research unit is to work on the transformation and valorization of the entire plant, particularly in the perspective of sustainable development by focusing on the integrated scientific approach taking into account the whole processing chain of agro-resources from studies of the construction mechanisms up to studies of their properties and functions during their final use whether for food and or non-food use.

The teaching component will be more focused on food processing and quality, and the food systems in the world.

  • Travel throughout the country and abroad as required ;
  • Position on permanent contract, salary according to profile and experience.

Responsibilities include :

Teaching
  • Teach and coordinate courses in agri-food sciences at bachelors and master level ; in agri-food production, food science, in agroalimentary industry and food sectors, local food networks, product life cycle analysis, while using innovative pedagogical tools and techniques
  • Developing projects in partnership with agribusiness companies
  • Supervision of student projects, end-of-study projects
  • Networking with all the actors of the ag-food sector

 

Research
  • Methodological and technological skills of the candidate will allow him/her to fit into the Transformation & Agroresources research unit
  • She/he will contribute to the elaboration, implementation and development of scientific collaborationwith public and private R&D departements as well as with companies
  • She /He will promote the results of research by writing scientific articles and attending conferences at national and international levels
Representation
  • Contribution to the promotion of UniLasalle in various events such as; open days, study fairs, conferences…)

Qualifications

The candidate must have a PhD in Agri Food or closely related discipline. Very good knowledge of the food, non-food sectors, biochemistry and quality of plant materials are expected. Skills in splitting and transformation of vegetable matter are appreciated.

 

Outstanding teacher with an interest in pedagogical innovation. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, capacities to build relationships with agribusiness professionals.

English proficiency, knowledge of French is a plus (not a must)
