More than positive results for the UniLaSails association, which reached the finals of 2 of the 3 trophies organized within the framework of the largest student sailing race.

Last April, 27 Lasallian students participated in the EDHEC Race Cruise in Quiberon Bay, Brittany.

The annual meeting for students who are passionate about sailing kept all its promises, with good results for our students, who came in large numbers from their campus in Rouen.

In the Sea Trophy, the Unilasails - Bricomarché Louviers crew, skippered by Michel Guillermic, made it to the finals after brilliantly finishing 2nd in its series (SunFast 36 category). In the final, a fine 6th place awaited the Lasallian crew.

The other Rouen boat, Unilasails - BNP Paribas, entered in the First29 category and skippered by Patrick Heroux, did not come close to qualifying for the final by finishing 4th in its series out of 25 participating boats.

This performance is all the more impressive given that some of the students were new to sailing during the EDHEC Boat Race. "There were not only "sailors" among the participants, our crews were a mix of beginners and experienced sailors, so their level was very heterogeneous," explains Luna Ducoulombier, president of Unilasails, the UniLaSalle Rouen sailing association.

The two crews were able to take advantage of the facilities at the Bédanne leisure center, near Rouen, on three occasions to train on small habitables.

In addition to the 14 students participating in the Sea Trophy, UniLaSalle could also count on a team of 5 students for the Land Trophy (mountain biking / kayaking / orienteering), which qualified for the final and finished in 7th place), and a team of 8 students for the Sand Trophy (beach volleyball / beach soccer).

This is a very good result for the 27 students from Rouen who have fully invested themselves in the EDHEC Cruise Race and in the search for sponsors during the preparation. This is enough to make the Unilasails team smile!
