Vendredi 17 mars 2023

1 year after obtaining the accreditation for the veterinary school, let's look back on the last months and on the projects to come.

A day full of emotions

On Thursday, March 4, while the UniLaSalle teams are enthusiastically experiencing their 6th day at the 2023 Salon International de l'Agriculture, a celebration is in the making. One year earlier, UniLaSalle obtained the approval to officially launch the new veterinary school on the Rouen campus.

For this special occasion, we had the pleasure of gathering :

  • about sixty students of the vet school class 001
  • the UniLaSalle teams: Sébastien Windsor, Philippe Choquet, Valérie Leroux, Caroline Boulocher and many others
  • Benoit Bonaimé, Director General of Research and Higher Education
  • Jérôme Coppalle, Deputy Director of Higher Education at the Ministry of Agriculture
  • Jacques Guérin, President of the National Council of the Order of Veterinarians
  • our partners and visitors of the exhibition.

UniLaSalle veterinary, a choice for the future

For the past 6 months, the academic program has been developed in compliance with the highest European quality standards. It is accompanied by numerous field trips (farm, breeding, zoo, medical training center, etc.), concrete courses such as anatomy, microbiology, parasitology, but also leadership and self-knowledge. For their part, the students are very close-knit and do not hesitate to help and galvanize each other, with a single objective: to all graduate together in 6 years!

In parallel, UniLaSalle is working to deploy the project in the medium and long term. We are recruiting a team of veterinary teacher-researchers, working on the academic extension and the Veterinary Hospital Centre, and preparing the international semester, etc.

According to Caroline Boulocher, Head of the Veterinary College, "the course remains the same: to meet the expectations of the territories, the profession and the students".

You are part of the veterinary family, you don't have to have any complex. Congratulations for your choice! A number of countries in the North are interested in this project, so we hope to be able to export it!

Jérôme Coppalle, Deputy Director of Higher Education at the Ministry of Agriculture

Animal health is a profession in tension, we need veterinarians on all territories. I look forward to seeing you in 5 years, when you will be welcomed like all the other graduate students from partner countries.
