Two robots developed by students from our Amiens campus were competing last weekend in this national robotics competition.

What is the French Robotics Cup?

The French Robotics Cup, a competition featuring autonomous robots built entirely by young enthusiasts between the ages of 18 and 30, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Organized by the non-profit organization Planète Sciences, the theme of the current edition is "The Cherry on the Cake".

Each year, a different theme is chosen, and the robots must perform specific actions while avoiding their opponents. Since its first editions, this event has been recognized in France and broadcast on television on E=M6.

Since 2018, the school has participated through the AREA student association, which renamed itself UniMakers in 2021. This evolution has made it possible to support other initiatives within the association, such as the maker activity with MakerSpace and the model-making section. The association helps students with their technical projects, offering them a framework conducive to the realization of their ambitions.

This year, the UniMakers association is developing two robots for the competition. The first robot, the result of a project by third-year students and the association, is a holonomic robot, capable of moving in all directions.

The second project, carried out jointly by the association and second-year students, aims to produce a robot to train for next year and take over from the third-years. This approach enables younger students to familiarize themselves with the competition and prepare to take on responsibility for the project the following year.

The school is proud of its students and their involvement in their projects, which testify to their commitment and passion for robotics. Participation in the Coupe de France de Robotique offers students a unique opportunity to put their knowledge into practice and prepare for the challenges of the professional world.

The school supports its students!

The school plays an active role in supporting its students involved in the Coupe de France de Robotique. In fact, it provides them with premises dedicated to the UniMakers association, strategically located close to MakerSpace. This provides easy access to the equipment and resources they need to realize their ambitious projects, such as 3D printers, laser cutters and mechanical design spaces.

In addition, the school provides invaluable financial support to help students travel to the competition and purchase the materials they need to develop their robots. It also supports students in their third-year projects, demonstrating its commitment to their academic and professional success. The school is proud to create an environment conducive to learning and the realization of its students' ambitions.
