Marie-Asma Ben-Othmen, a associate professor in Environmental Economics on the Rouen campus, published an article in the scientific journal The Conversation on the urban gardening experience of the inhabitants of the City of Rouen.   

Community, associative, collective gardens are gardens created and run collectively by associations of inhabitants of a neighborhood. While being open to the public, this form of urban agriculture, which is sometimes practiced on abandoned land, both improves the living environment and encourages exchanges between people of different geographical origins, ages and social backgrounds.
