It's not only the students who are going back to school this September! Like last year, a "class" of 6 new puppies, 3 labradors and 3 golden retrievers destined to become future guide dogs, was entrusted to trios of UniLaSalle students and employees on Saturday, September 4, 2021, as part of the Guide Babine program.

Throughout the school year, these 6 puppies will follow their masters in their daily life at UniLaSalle, from the classrooms to the university restaurant, in order to multiply their experiences, an essential step for a good socialization. The reception of these future assistance dogs also makes it possible to raise the students' awareness of inclusion and the issue of disability.

The Guide Babine program, conducted in partnership with the association Chien-Guide pour la Liberté Visuelle, has been named a finalist in the "positive impact on society" category of the International Green Gown Awards 2021, an international award recognizing sustainable development initiatives within higher education institutions.

The award ceremony took place in the presence of the leaders of the association Guide Dog for Visual Freedom and Franck Pia, first deputy mayor of the city of Beauvais.
