Our priority? Your success!
True to its Lasallian heritage, UniLaSalle is a Grande École that pays particular attention to the quality of its teaching practices.
We are committed to offering you the best teaching methods, with a strong practical focus. At UniLaSalle, new technologies and ongoing training for teaching staff in the latest teaching practices are all geared towards your success.
On our four campuses, the faculty benefits from the support of the Educational Innovation Department in the design and promotion of its teaching materials and methods.
Make a successful transition to higher education
Work pace, independence, student life... Starting higher education often involves major changes that are not always easy to grasp.
To ease the transition from high school to higher education, UniLaSalle supports you from the moment you enroll through two programs:
- A digital vacation workbook
- Methodology courses: 20 hours at the beginning of the program to learn how to take notes, speak in public, manage your time, and more.
Introduced in summer 2022 for the first veterinary class, this support program is gradually being extended to other courses. Eight versions are currently available for students entering their first year of an UniLaSalle engineering program.
Its objective: to facilitate your transition from high school to higher education through online modules (science, professions, methodology, culture, etc.) organized into courses that will also teach you how to use the educational platform that will be your space for the next five years. Everything you need for a smooth start to the school year.
Supporting you throughout your studies
At UniLaSalle, support is not limited to your first few weeks on campus! Throughout your studies, you can contact the teaching team with any questions you may have about methodology or tools that will help you with your academic work, club activities, or personal projects. The Educational Innovation Department also gets involved in 4th and 5th year projects, at the request of teachers.
Don't hesitate to go and see them, their door is always open!
Learning by doing
In keeping with its Lasallian heritage, UniLaSalle promotes active teaching methods. These practices allow you to take charge of your own education and promote knowledge assimilation. This makes it easier for you to develop the skills and attitudes you need for your future career.
Learning by doing
Trying, making mistakes, correcting your own mistakes... Practice makes perfect! UniLaSalle devotes many hours to practical teaching. Fieldwork, practical lab work, real-life cases, serious games... Here, learning takes many forms, but is always based on real-world situations.
Peer tutoring
When students talk to students! Because messages sometimes get across better when they come from peers, UniLaSalle has spent five years creating conditions that allow students to work together, but in different roles. Students can take on the role of learner, manager, or evaluator, allowing them to approach the subject from different angles.
Student designers
Designing for practice is good; designing for others to learn is better! Some educational programs involve students creating serious games, posters, apps, and other materials that will be used to teach future classes.
At UniLaSalle Amiens, three third-year engineering students studying energy engineering and digital systems have invented a game to help their fellow students in the pre-engineering program revise their C language skills. The fun format makes it easier to learn this computer language, which forms the basis of algorithmics and computer programming.
- Une formation pédagogique obligatoire pour tous les nouveaux personnels d’enseignement afin d’harmoniser les pratiques pédagogiques et assurer la qualité des enseignements auprès de nos élèves ;
- Une montée en compétences continue du corps professoral à travers des formations aux sciences de l’éducation, aux outils numériques ou à l’environnement techno-pédagogique (intelligence artificielle, réalité virtuelle…)
A team entirely dedicated to educational innovation
Comprising three people, the Educational Innovation Department's main mission is to promote new teaching practices with the aim of fostering student success.
Its work covers five main areas:
- Rolling out the student success program: offering teaching resources, participating in personalized support, and developing inclusive learning.
- Supporting teachers' professional development: training them, enabling them to evolve in their practices, and recognizing their achievements.
- Designing innovative teaching projects internally and with external partners, implementing and evaluating them.
- Supporting the school's various departments in their processes and missions: recruitment, quality, professional development advice, facilitation and leadership of working groups, etc.
- Leading the learning community through various activities: monthly webinars, pre-term seminars, field activities.
The UniLaSalle faculty is composed partly of teachers who have followed an academic path (Master's, PhD, HDR, etc.) and partly of teachers who have gained experience in the business world. Some courses are also taught by external speakers who are professionals with direct experience in the field. This variety of profiles ensures a rich diversity of perspectives.
