Want to pursue a high-level sports career while studying at UniLaSalle? It's possible thanks to special arrangements and personalized support throughout your studies.
Because a high-level sports career requires a significant personal investment, UniLaSalle provides you with the necessary resources to successfully pursue your dual goals of athletic excellence and higher education.
Who is this program for?
To be eligible for these accommodations, you must prove that you are a high-level athlete or equivalent.
SHN or SHNU status is validated by a committee made up of the director of the Educational and Student Life Department, the director of academic training, and the academic year coordinator.
You have high-level athlete status
To obtain High-Level Athlete status, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be listed on the Ministry of Youth and Sports' Espoirs (Hopefuls) or Elites lists
- Regularly participate in high-level competitions, such as national or international championships
- Achieve high-level sporting results, such as medals or records
- Produce a file detailing the athlete's history (sporting results), short-, medium- and long-term sporting plans (including annual training schedules, competitions, etc., and the annual budget)
It is important to note that high-level athlete status entitles you to academic accommodations to enable you to balance your athletic activities and your studies.
You have the status of an elite athlete
The status of equivalent high-level athlete is a status that allows athletes who do not meet all the criteria for obtaining the status of high-level athlete, but who nevertheless have a high level of athletic ability, to benefit from certain advantages related to high-level sports.
The criteria for obtaining this status are:
- Practice a high-level sport on a regular basis
- Have significant sporting results, such as victories in regional or departmental competitions
- Produce a file detailing the athlete's history (sporting results), short-, medium- and long-term sporting plans (with annual training schedules, competitions, etc., and an annual budget estimate)
