Adèle Le Badezet, member of the association COP Trotter (an association that organizes debates, ecological awareness events and ensures a watch on environmental news) is part of a generation concerned by climate change. Convinced that youth must be heard, she is present at COP 27, to represent her generation in front of the political decision makers of their future.

Every year, and for several years now, UniLaSalle students have been taking part in the COP, with the aim of representing the young generation, but also of understanding the complexity of political negotiations, particularly in an event of this scale.

An unmissable event for the young generation

"On the spot, activists from all over the world are gathering to challenge those who decide our future. The feeling of being part of this mobilization gives hope and a lot of strength."
Manon Combe, Student present at the COP 26 in Glasgow.
Adèle Le Badezet, Student participating in the COP 27 in Sharm-el-Sheikh.

Adèle will be accompanied by Thomas Viveret, in charge of the Ecological and Societal Transformation mission at UniLaSalle Beauvais.
It is important for students, as well as for employees, to understand what is happening during a COP, to ensure that information is passed on.

"Faced with the climate emergency, the COP is registering as one of the main instances, so it is important for UniLaSalle, a polytechnic institute like ours to be present, while we have just launched our strategy for an ecological and societal transformation Uni4change."

Thomas Viveret, UniLaSalle Beauvais ecological and societal transformation mission officer.

Advocating for "loss and damage financing" and "adaptation

Adèle and Thomas wanted to bring this topic to the heart of the COP 27 participation, both because it is a theme that touches them, and also because it is an important topic, especially since the COP 27 is held in Egypt. The consequences are serious and real, which is why Adèle will closely follow this subject during the negotiations.

The COP experience

At the same time, Adèle wishes to discover the other side of the COP, aware of the difficulties to gather all the stakeholders, she feels privileged, so she wishes to

  • To question stakeholders,
  • Understand the conferences and be able to translate them to students and employees upon her return.
  • Conduct 2/3 interviews to get a better understanding of other visions...

Next December, Adèle will hold a conference with UniLaSalle students, an opportunity to share her experience and take stock of her participation.
