The partnership between the two organizations will enable committed student volunteers to benefit from accommodations in their schooling.

Will more Lasallian students soon be joining the ranks of Oise's volunteer firefighters? This is the stated ambition of the partnership agreement signed on Thursday June 8, 2023 between UniLaSalle and the SDIS 60 (Service départemental d'incendie et de secours), in the presence of Luc Corack, director and head of the Oise departmental fire department, and Jérôme Colin, director of UnilaSalle's Mission éducative et de la vie étudiante.

To encourage its students to get involved with the fire department, UniLaSalle Beauvais will allow student volunteers to benefit from timetable adjustments - in the same way as top-level sportsmen and women - and will authorize absences for intervention or training purposes.

"Commitment to community service is at the heart of the Lasallian educational project, and the signing of this partnership with the SDIS de l'Oise, which promotes the values of courage and dedication, is an integral part of this dynamic," explains Jérôme Colin.

Dedication is precisely what motivated Louis Prévost, a 4th-year engineering student in Food & Health at UniLaSalle, to join the fire department 8 years ago. "Helping people is a vocation for me. I chose to become a volunteer firefighter for the values and principles."
