I joined UniLaSalle in 2010 with the aim of gaining a thorough grounding in the agriculture and food industries. My interest in these topics grew as soon as the program started, so I decided to do a six-month internship at Monoprix as quality manager for refrigerated produce.

During my final year at UniLaSalle, I opted for the Advanced Master’s in Food Marketing, Communication and Engineering (MCIPA) so that I would graduate with extensive knowledge of the food industry and business know-how – two skills that are highly sought after by companies. It was definitely the right choice!

The program includes courses in marketing, communications, project management and negotiating skills. This last area was actually the subject I enjoyed the most, so I decided to complete my final-year internship in the Procurement Department at Pomona Group.

Since the beginning of 2016 I have been a buyer for Intermarché. I work in a complex, highly competitive industry. Applying professional rigor, coping with stress and working to tight deadlines are all abilities that I developed during my time at UniLaSalle. The opportunities I had to meet professionals also helped me understand and grasp the key issues that arise in business environments.

I am very aware of how much UniLaSalle contributed to my personal and professional development. As a UniLaSalle alumnus, if I could give current students two pieces of advice it would be to be proud of their school and willing to adapt to change.

With this program, we are lucky enough to be given a wide range of professional opportunities depending on the industry we want to develop our career in – agriculture, agronomy, agricultural supplies, food, energy, environment, management, etc. I believe that our ability to stand out from the crowd, adapt to change and demonstrate autonomy makes us able to work as engineers in any sector, at national or international level.
