At UniLaSalle Beauvais, AgroTeam offers students a unique learning environment, combining training in agronomy and agribusiness, community involvement, and agricultural practice. It provides a hands-on immersion in the realities of the profession, led by passionate students.

A passion for agriculture that becomes a commitment to community service

Romain Appert, Marie-Charlotte Rabourdin, and Florine Hérault are members of the small office of AgroTeam, the student association on the Beauvais campus that actively participates in the management and development of educational farm projects. AgroTeam acts as a bridge between students, the farm, and teaching staff, enabling concrete agricultural projects to be carried out while strengthening the link between training and practical experience. All three are studying agronomy or agro-industry at UniLaSalle Beauvais and share a background marked by close ties to the agricultural world.

For them, agriculture is not just a subject of study: it is a culture, sometimes a family heritage, and always a passion. By joining AgroTeam, they have found a space to extend this attachment beyond academic teaching, by engaging in structured collective projects directly connected to the realities of the field.

“You never learn as well as when you're right in the thick of what you're doing.”
Romain

This immersion allows students to apply the knowledge they have acquired in class to real-life technical and organizational situations.

A practical extension of agronomy and agro-industry training

The activities carried out by AgroTeam are fully in line with the training provided on the Beauvais campus. Animal production, plant production, farm management, and product processing: the projects undertaken by the association directly reflect the teaching in agronomy and agro-industry.

The orchard project is a perfect illustration of this. Designed and built collectively, it is currently under development and draws on technical, scientific, and organizational skills. Choosing varieties, considering tree placement, and consulting with farm management and faculty researchers are all integral steps in the process.

“Here, we don't just throw ideas out there at random: every project is carefully thought out, defined, and built to last.”
Marie-Charlotte

This project allows students to apply the knowledge they have acquired during their training in a practical setting, while taking into account the technical, educational, and territorial constraints specific to the Beauvais site. Ultimately, the orchard is intended to become a permanent feature of the campus's educational activities, particularly those related to product processing.

Learning to manage projects and teams

Beyond technical skills, AgroTeam is a real training ground for professional development. At just over 20 years of age, the members of this small office manage long-term projects, coordinate students from different classes, and act as a liaison between the farm, teaching staff, and students.

Managing peers, often classmates or friends, requires a specific approach. The organization is based above all on trust, dialogue, and individual accountability. This experience develops essential cross-functional skills: project management, communication, decision-making, and the ability to unite a group around common goals.

“AgroTeam is about learning to manage, collaborate, and commit, long before entering the professional world.”
Florine

Skills that effectively complement the courses taken in agronomy and agro-industry.

Training committed players in the agriculture of tomorrow

Thanks to their involvement in associations, these students develop a broader vision of the agricultural world. Even when specializing in a specific field, they discover other sectors, other practices, and other ways of approaching production and processing systems.

Faced with the current challenges facing the sector, such as generational renewal, health crises, and economic and societal changes, they understand the importance of innovation, adaptation, and collective commitment. For them, students have a central role to play in building the agriculture of tomorrow.

AgroTeam thus embodies a different way of learning at UniLaSalle Beauvais: through action, experimentation, and responsibility. It is a formative experience, at the heart of the campus, which prepares students to become committed professionals, aware of the realities in the field and the challenges ahead.
