UniLaSalle Rennes' Bachelor's degree in Environment and Sustainable Development has been awarded the grade of Bachelor's degree, following evaluation by the Commission des titres d'ingénieurs (CTI), and has entered the prestigious category of "Bachelor's degree in Science and Engineering" of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation. This result, a guarantee of quality, highlights the unique and innovative character of this professional training program in France.

Training operational profiles in a different way to meet the expectations of companies and communities

The rise of environmental concerns in society is leading to profound changes in companies and local authorities. These changes are accompanied by new needs in terms of skills: knowing how to manage energy, ecological and societal transitions.

For the past 10 years, UniLaSalle Rennes has been working closely with a network of professional and institutional partners to train experts with a BAC+3 level recognized for their ability to manage environmental projects.

To meet emerging demands, the Environment & Sustainable Development Bachelor's degree has been revamped for 2021. It now provides the skills needed for jobs in Quality Health Safety Environment (QHSE), Sustainable Development (SD) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

This acquisition of skills is based on the project mode with a double objective:

  • To respond to new ways of learning more focused on meaning and concreteness, breaking with traditional modes of learning
  • To adopt a work process similar to that of companies and communities, facilitating the integration of graduates

All about the training

A triple recognition, a guarantee of quality

If the Bachelor Environment & Sustainable Development degree was already recognized by companies and guidance organizations as evidenced by its first place in Eduniversal's 2022 ranking, it now officially receives recognition from the State through the evaluation conducted by the CTI. This accreditation officially certifies the quality of the program and its relevance to the expectations of the professional world.  It attests to its entry into the prestigious category of "Bachelor of Science and Engineering", signifying the recognition of the degree of Bachelor.

A Bac+3 training through apprenticeship

After a first year of studies where students acquire the fundamentals of their future functions, the training will continue, in the 2nd and 3rd year, through an apprenticeship. The aim of this method is to meet the strong needs of companies that are now looking for trained and operational personnel and to integrate their future employees.

The professional experience acquired through two years of apprenticeship will accelerate professional integration. Young graduates will be able to apply for positions as CSR managers, QHSE researchers, environment/circular economy coordinators, water/waste treatment unit operators, etc.

Apprenticeship training will also make it possible to open up the training to a larger number of students, since the tuition fees are paid by the companies.

Moreover, students who wish to deepen their skills can continue directly to a Master's degree at the university, or even join the Environmental Engineering training program at UniLaSalle Rennes through an apprenticeship.

The Bachelor's degree in Science and Engineering, specializing in Environment and Sustainable Development, opens up a wide range of possibilities for students who wish to take concrete action to preserve the environment.
