The COP Trotter association will represent the Polytechnic Institute at the 26th edition of the Conference of the Parties.

On the way to Glasgow, UniLaSalle present at the COP26

All the media are talking about it and that's good! Climate change, its consequences and its management are once again in the spotlight. Governments, companies and civil society are brought together and collaborate in order to finalize and put into practice the Paris Agreement of 2016 (COP21).

What to expect from this Conference?

The negotiations of the 197 parties will focus on international collaboration to promote climate action. Events are intended to raise topics related to finance, energy, youth, territories, science, innovations in terms of energy and transport.

Youth: a central place in the reflections

Despite the fact that nothing has been done to facilitate the coming of youth movements (visas difficult to obtain, the health situation hindering their presence, the exorbitant price of accommodation), Manon, student-engineer on the campus of Rennes and active member of the association COP Trotter will visit the French Pavilion. The difficulties she encountered did not dampen her motivation to participate in the exchanges and experience the negotiations live.

"Being present at this COP is more important than ever so that the pressure continues to be put on those who are negotiating", announces Geoffroy Belhenniche, Director of Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility at UniLaSalle and Director of the Rennes establishment.

"For the 6th consecutive time, COP Trotter, an association founded by students of UniLaSalle Rennes - School of Environmental Professions during the COP21, will be present to represent the voice of students and more widely of young people. Thank you to Manon Combe and her team for taking charge of carrying this voice and this requirement! We will read and share your feedback! "continues Mr. Belhenniche.

See you all along this fortnight on social networks to follow Manon in her journey!
