On Wednesday, June 4, UniLaSalle Amiens was buzzing with innovation during Project Day. This iconic event showcases the skills, creativity, and commitment of our students.

A day to showcase project-based learning

Throughout the year, first-, second- and third-year engineering students in the Digital Systems and Energy program work on real-world projects that combine theory and practice and are directly related to current technological challenges. This day marks an important milestone in their education: the presentation and sharing of their work.

Three highlights, three levels of expertise

Ottolympiads (1st year)

Our first-year students took up the challenge of designing, programming, and customizing Otto robots. This introduction to robotics and 3D modeling was punctuated by fun challenges, including timed obstacle courses, sumo bot fights, automated tug-of-war, and color recognition. This helped them develop their skills in microcontroller programming and additive manufacturing.

Machines That Draw (2nd year)

The second year combined art and digital technology through the creation of machines capable of drawing autonomously. These creations draw on knowledge of motor control and mechanical design, while paying close attention to the precision and aesthetics of the lines. A beautiful intersection of technology and creativity.

Multidisciplinary projects (3rd year)

In the third year, it was time for complex projects: autonomous vehicles, home automation systems, web and mobile applications, embedded artificial intelligence, and more. The students carried out their projects from start to finish, from the specifications to the functional demonstration. It was a great showcase of their ability to manage innovative projects independently and professionally.

A moment of exchange and pride

The day also provided an opportunity for fruitful exchanges between classes, with teachers, school staff, and outside visitors eager to discover the talents of tomorrow. It was a wonderful demonstration of our “learning by doing” approach to education, rooted in reality and focused on the future.
