A solidarity partnership between Eco-Challenge and the Bruz social and solidarity grocery store

The student association Eco-Challenge, based at the UniLaSalle Rennes campus, is continuing its commitment to sustainable development with a concrete and meaningful project: a partnership with the Bruz social and solidarity grocery store.

Every week, student volunteers collect unsold food (fruit, vegetables, meat, cheese, etc.) to redistribute it free of charge to students at the school.

This initiative both reduces food waste and combats student poverty.

An association committed to a more sustainable campus

Created by students at UniLaSalle Rennes, Eco-Challenge has been working for several years to reduce the campus's environmental impact.

The association has two main missions:

  • To reduce food waste by developing partnerships with local businesses and organizations.
  • To ensure better waste management and sorting by raising awareness among students and participating in responsible waste collection on campus.

Concrete actions throughout the year

Eco-Challenge's commitment extends beyond the school walls. Members regularly organize clean walks, which are community walks aimed at picking up waste in nature and promoting waste sorting. They also participate in major events, such as the Paris Half Marathon and Marathon, to ensure the collection and sorting of recyclable and biodegradable waste.

A commitment in line with UniLaSalle's values

Through its actions, Eco-Challenge fully embodies the values of UniLaSalle Rennes: responsibility, solidarity, and sustainability.

This initiative illustrates the school's desire to train engineers and change makers who are aware of the social and environmental issues facing the world today.
