The ESIEE-Amiens engineering program offers a 5-year course of study in energy and digital technologies.
At the cutting edge of new technologies, ESIEE-Amiens engineers can find their way in many sectors of activity, including aeronautics and telecommunications.
Thanks to its accreditation by the CTI (Commission des titres d'ingénieur), the ESIEE-Amiens engineering degree is recognized in France and internationally.
Between the 2nd and 3rd year, students are required to complete a one-month work placement in the company of their choice.
This is a good way to discover the different trades they will encounter later on in the company!
The training program
The students who join our school want to put their knowledge into practice through technical, technological or industrial projects. At UniLaSalle - ESIEE-Amiens, we have understood this and offer above all a project-based pedagogy.
A common base is spread over the two years including :
- Engineering sciences (Physics, Electronics, Mathematics, Computer Science),
- Modern languages (English, German, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese)
- Humanities (self-knowledge and business knowledge)
From the first year, projects have a special place in the curriculum. With 114 hours of projects, 1st year students can choose between several modules for a personalized course according to their individual desires. (2 modules to choose from per year)
In the 2nd year, students go further into engineering sciences and take more advanced courses on electromagnetic field propagation, magnetostatics and automation. The theoretical notions are seen in lectures and the associated exercises are always worked on in small groups during the TD (tutorials) or TP (practical work).
After 2 years of pre-engineering cycle or admission after 2 or 3 years of higher education, you will join UniLaSalle - ESIEE-Amiens for a 3-year engineering cycle where you will learn how to manage a team through an apprenticeship in project mode while reinforcing your engineering science bases. Two internships will allow you to integrate more quickly into the professional world.
A refresher semester will be set up for students coming from a BTS, a DUT or a scientific bachelor's degree who wish to follow the initial training in order to consolidate the technical bases in sciences and engineering sciences.
In the first year of the engineering cycle through the initial track, the student is raised to the rank of collaborator through a multidisciplinary project that confronts him with industrial innovation issues.
Supported by the scientific know-how of the teacher-researchers, they bring their creativity and contribute to innovation on research projects in collaboration with our partner companies (Valéo, Cern, National Instruments, Aerolia...).
In the 2nd and 3rd years of the engineering cycle, the student deepens a field of competences by choosing one of the 3 following options:
- Energy and sustainable development: Master the new technologies of electrical energy and their use in modern fields of electrical engineering with the constraints of sustainable development.
- Computer networks and telecommunications: Design, implement, operate, upgrade and secure computer or telecommunications networks.
- Production systems: Have a global vision of the industrial company and adapt to the different technical functions of a company.
The engineering cycle in initial training includes 2 internships in 4th and 5th year which allow students to set foot in the professional world and to understand the mechanisms of the project mode in real conditions.
The end-of-study project in 5th year (6 months) is a real springboard to employment. In fact, 75% of students are hired even before the end of their training.
A Company / Student forum is organized every year to help students find the company that corresponds to their profile.
Approximately 50% of a graduating class has at least 3 months of international experience (internship, study semester or double degree).
Throughout the course, students are followed by the ESIEE-Amiens staff. The teacher-researchers are available to answer students' questions about the courses and project-based pedagogy offers them a privileged link with the pedagogical team.
A tutoring system is set up at the beginning of the academic year to allow students who feel the need to be helped by 2nd year (or higher) tutor students. In groups of 4 to 5 students, they review the basics or non-assimilated notions by adapting to each student.
Hours of study are also put in place during the preparatory cycle to encourage inter-promotional exchanges, a good way to give an impetus to the personal work to be done in engineering school.
Training accessible after :
- General French baccalaureate (compulsory math option )
- Bac STI2D,
Admission by application and interview.
Parcoursup procedure required (applications between January 20 and March 11, 2021).
