Student associations at UniLaSalle Rennes
Students' Union (Bureau des étudiants - BDE)
The BDE, or student union, is the association that represents all students at UniLaSalle - Rennes campus. Composed of around ten students, its mission is to make life at the school dynamic and friendly, to bring all students together and to develop a spirit of solidarity, because UniLaSalle Rennes-EME is one big family!
To achieve this, the BDE often collaborates with other school associations: BDA, BDJ, BDS, Eco-challenge, Humanit'AIME, Cop Trotter, Univert, Uni'Cap, and Projets Up Rennes.
The BDE organizes numerous events throughout the year. These events are UNMISSABLE and an integral part of student life.
- A week and a weekend of team building, the WEC!
To help new students meet their classmates, at the beginning of the academic year, the BDE works with other associations at the School to organize a week of team building and integration, with a presentation of student life, sports competitions, an orienteering race in Rennes, and evening activities on campus. The week ends with a three-day team-building weekend in Brittany, to which all students are invited. The program includes games, fun, and socializing. Each student is assigned a mentor for the year.
- Themed events
Mentors, Christmas party, handover from outgoing associations, departure of final-year students, end-of-year party, gala preparations, talent show... and surprise events throughout the year in conjunction with the various associations.
- The Gala
A gala evening follows the graduation ceremony: all students, teachers, and administrative staff are invited. Formal dress is, of course, required!
The BDE is also a great way to get good deals, thanks to partnerships (banks, insurance companies, restaurants, leisure activities, etc.) and a dynamic team that is always ready to surprise and entertain the School for a memorable year!
Always ready to serve its fellow students, the BDE will be happy to answer all your questions.

Eco-Challenge
Eco-Challenge is a non-profit organization created in 1992, which is when the school was founded! The association aims to promote environmental protection within the École des Métiers de l’Environnement (School of Environmental Trades), but also outside the school. Its main goal is to reach out to everyone in order to raise awareness.
Eco-Challenge's actions are locally focused on environmental protection. Thanks to its team, this association develops and implements projects around three themes: biodiversity, waste, and awareness. It is part of an inter-association approach based on local networks in order to raise awareness about environmental protection among as many people as possible. Eco-Challenge carries out its activities in schools, at festivals, and with local partners such as Ille et Bio.
Eco-Challenge works in partnership with Les Connexions, an association that raises awareness about waste sorting at events, and therefore participates in awareness days at major events such as the Paris Marathon and the Panoramas festival in Morlaix.
It also organizes a clean walk every two months on the Ker Lann campus or in the city center of Rennes.

COP Trotter
COP Trotter is an association committed to fighting global warming. To this end, we engage in a variety of activities, including organizing debates and awareness-raising events, monitoring environmental issues through our monthly newsletter (News Trotter), and participating in various social movements such as climate marches.
To ensure that our actions are part of a national policy, we are part of the French Student Network for Sustainable Development (REFEDD). Through this network, we are in contact with several French associations working to promote an ecological and solidarity-based society. With these partnerships, we are able to act on a larger scale to build a youth movement in the fight against climate inaction.
What makes our association unique is our participation in COPs, where we carry out journalistic work to report on the measures discussed there. We also represent young people and higher education in spheres that are generally very distant from the new generations movement.
Our regular services throughout the year:
- Monthly News Trotter.
- Monthly debates.
Our one-off events:
- La Fresque du Climat
- We have joined forces with several other youth associations, such as Green Vox, to support the climate laws proposed by the Citizens' Climate Convention and bring them to the attention of members of Congress and parliament.
- Events in collaboration with other school associations, such as the Advent calendar...

Univert
Originally known as Jardin d’EdEME and affiliated with Eco-Challenge, Univert became independent and a non-profit organization under the French law of 1901 in the summer of 2020. Univert aims to maintain an educational and community garden at UniLaSalle Rennes, respecting the principles of permaculture and bringing together students and staff to donate produce to the Restos du Cœur charity.
Due to its young age, the Univert association is involved in projects of various sizes.
One-off events:
The association is involved in one-off events such as European Sustainable Development Week (ESDW), World Food Day, National Food Waste Day, bench making, Green Day, etc.
Long-term projects:
Garden: Univert is involved in the renovation, expansion, and landscaping of the UniLaSalle Rennes garden. The aromatic spiral, an area composed of aromatic herbs, is currently being renovated. The layout of the garden has been redesigned, with benches being built to make it more enjoyable for students to visit. As part of the same initiative, information panels and a new insect hotel are being built. Univert is also opening the garden to projects outside the association, which is why new plots have been created. A cultivation project with students from the school and a project launched by a teacher to study the impact of different fertilizers on the growth of different plants are currently underway.
PAVI: Univert is in discussions with the administration of UniLaSalle Rennes to carry out an Indoor Plant Development Project (PAVI). The aim of this project is to bring color and nature into the heart of the school to enhance our premises. This project could be extended to include the development of certain outdoor spaces, the placement of plants in staff offices, and the sale of plants to students.
