Students and Associate Professors from UniLaSalle Rennes went to meet middle school students at Collège Saint Joseph in Bruz.

With spring in the air and nature coming back to life, it was the perfect opportunity for classes at Collège Saint Joseph in Bruz to (re)discover the environment. What better way to do this than by meeting students and experts from higher education?

  • In January, students in grades 8 and 9 met with environmental professionals during the school's career fair and workshops on January 29. The discussions allowed them to discover all the professions and sectors behind this theme: water, air, waste, research, chemistry, ecology, energy, urban planning, sustainable development, and more.
  • In March, environmental engineering students and Associate Professors from UniLaSalle Rennes led fun workshops for 6thgrade students during the eco-citizenship days organized by the school's parent-teacher association.
  • In April, more than 20 middle school students went to the Cinéville cinema in Bruz to attend a film screening and discussion. The film “Le Royaume de Kensuke” (Kensuke's Kingdom) explored global ecological and social issues through the example of an island and its biodiversity, with a presentation by Antoine Tardif, Associate Professor of Ecology.
  • To conclude this wonderful annual collaboration between secondary and higher education institutions, classes from the 7thand 8th grades will visit UniLaSalle Rennes on May 6 for Green Day. This morning event to raise awareness of sustainable development will focus on reuse this year. Workshops, conferences, tours of the school... There will be plenty to spark the curiosity of the youngest visitors!

“Sixth graders were able to learn about science through the discovery of microplastics and materials. They were also able to collectively reflect on concrete solutions to limit global warming and understand this phenomenon during the climate fresco, a workshop led by students in the Bachelor's program in Environment and Sustainable Development.”

Messika Revel, Associate Professor in Ecotoxicology

UniLaSalle Rennes is available to middle and high schools in Brittany throughout the year to introduce young people to careers in the environmental sector.
