UniLaSalle Beauvais and Beauvais Rugby Club have signed a partnership agreement to enable student rugby players to combine higher education with high-level sports training, with financial support provided.
A shared ambition: combining academic and sporting excellence
The UniLaSalle Polytechnic Institute and Beauvais Rugby Club (BRC), a club playing in France's Fédérale 1 league, have signed a partnership agreement aimed at supporting students in their dual ambition: to succeed in their academic studies while pursuing a demanding sporting commitment.
This unique partnership strengthens the ties between two organizations rooted in the same region, sharing the same vision of personal fulfillment through complementary experiences. For UniLaSalle, this commitment is a continuation of its longstanding attachment to rugby, notably through the organization of the Ovalies UniLaSalle, Europe's largest university rugby tournament for humanitarian causes.
Beauvais Rugby Club, which plays in the Fédérale 1 championship, is looking to recruit competitive UniLaSalle students to its team. The club is particularly interested in players at the “Espoir” level, but also those who have already played in Fédérale 1 or higher and are capable of fully committing to a high-level sports program.
This program allows young rugby players, whether experienced or promising, to develop in an environment of excellence, at the crossroads of sport and education.
Structured support for student athletes
Under this agreement, Beauvais Rugby Club is committed to providing financial support to students selected to join its team by seeking sponsors each year. The goal is to fund two scholarships of €3,000 per student per year. This scholarship is open to both women and men, subject to admission to UniLaSalle Beauvais and acceptance into the club's sports program. Support is renewable each year for the duration of the training program, after reconfirmation of the application by the club.
For its part, UniLaSalle will do everything possible to enable these students to balance their studies and sporting commitments. Each successful applicant will be offered flexible timetables, adapted academic schedules, and personalized support.
A locally rooted project open to support
This partnership, which is sporting, educational, and human in nature, also relies on the mobilization of the region's driving forces.
