The AgriTec workshop will benefit students in the Bachelor of Science and Engineering in Agriculture, Digital and Embedded Technologies program, as well as engineering students in the Agrotechnologies career path.

The AgriTec workshop, a new teaching space for students in the AgriTEN Bachelor's program and the Agronomy & Agro-industries engineering course, was inaugurated on Friday June 9.

Convinced by the regional dynamic promoted by the Rev'Agro cluster in Beauvais, and of the importance of apprenticeships for the professional integration of young people, the Region is developing a proactive policy to support and accompany apprentices throughout their studies at UniLaSalle, as demonstrated today by the inauguration of the Atelier AgriTec.

With a surface area of 180 m², the workshop, which is located close to AgriLab, UniLaSalle's FabLab, is equipped to offer students practical training in agricultural technologies.

"The workshop is a real pedagogical asset for professionalizing students, helping them to better know and understand the associated business sectors. The facility will enable students to put into practice courses in hydraulics, mechanics and the design or adaptation of agronomic equipment," explains Nikita Fedotov, head of the AgriTEN Bachelor's program.

UniLaSalle's Agri-Machinery and New Technologies Chair and its partners AGCO - Massey Ferguson, the Michelin Corporate Foundation and the Kuhn Group were involved in the creation of this new workshop.

In his speech, Christian Fischer, Chair President, emphasized that "the inauguration of this workshop is a continuation of what is being done at UniLaSalle. As Chairman of the Chair, I am proud of the support provided by our structures. This workshop will enable us to meet a need for practical skills.

Thanks to financial support from the Hauts-de-France Region, state-of-the-art equipment has been acquired to provide students with a high-quality, hands-on training environment. Regional councillor Chanez Herbanne, who attended the inauguration, thanked UniLaSalle and its partners for "giving our young people this opportunity to innovate and train in agronomy in the region. The region is proud to be a partner in this fine achievement."

From the start of the school year in September 2023, the subjects to be taught at the AgriTec workshop will be as follows:

  • Introduction to mechanization and agricultural technologies,
  • Hydraulics,
  • Electricity and electronics,
  • On-board technologies and their influence on driving,
  • Diagnostics and maintenance,
  • Technological innovations at the service of agronomic innovations,
  • GPS and equipment interoperability.

This modern environment will enable students to familiarize themselves with the latest agricultural technologies and prepare them to work in the agricultural equipment sector. Students benefiting from this workshop will acquire new practical skills to contribute to agronomic and environmental transitions.

"The AgriTec workshop represents an important project for the training of our students. We would like to thank all the partners involved in the realization of this project, in particular those of the Agri-Machinery and New Technologies Chair: AGCO - Massey Ferguson, the Michelin Corporate Foundation and the Kuhn Group, as well as the Hauts-de-France Region," says Philippe Choquet, Managing Director of UniLaSalle.
